The original Chalet la Vigne was built in circa 1950, just after the founding of the Verbier lift system. Located in the peaceful Patier area of Verbier, its location was originally within pasture, which over time has been deemed an "area of natural beauty" by the local authorities. While Verbier can on occasion get busy and perhaps even noisy, Patier distinguishes itself via solitude, privacy and exceptional views, without sacrificing proximity.
Since the 1950s the chalet has changed hands a few times - before being bought in 2012 by its current owners, a Canadian/British family of four avid skiers/hikers/bikers. While the old chalet was full of charm, the decision was taken in 2013 to start afresh, and a completely new chalet was designed by Comina, Verbier’s leading architectural firm. Sustainability was a key consideration; consequently the chalet was built to the highly eco friendly “Minergie” Swiss standard - implying, somewhat surprisingly, that the chalet rarely needs to be heated. Construction was finished in December 2015, and we welcomed our first guests in the spring of 2016.
Today, Chalet la Vigne offers contemporary living while maintaining the timeless nature of a rustic Swiss mountain chalet. With four bedrooms, unobstructed views from every window, wraparound terraces, cinema, indoor pool, steam room, outdoor hot tub, gym - and essentials such as fine dining, a fully stocked wine cellar, a killer sound system and an in the know concierge service - the chalet offers the right foundation for an exceptional ski holiday.
Home to 100 lifts, 400km of pistes, and countless couloirs, Verbier easily justifies it place among the world's best - if not the best - ski resorts. Catering to every ski ability, the on piste and off piste skiing in Verbier is exceptional - as is the vibrant apres ski scene and fabulous nightlife. New to skiing?
